YouTube advertising allows you to target a custom audience in a relevant location on YouTube.

Campaigns are based on a cost-per-view (CPV) model. A YouTube view is counted when someone watches a complete ad that is 11-30 seconds long, someone watches at least 30 seconds of an ad that is more than 30 seconds long, or someone interacts with the ad.

YouTube ads are skippable after 5 seconds.

Targeting Capabilities

  • Geography: Ads are served to a custom geography with zip code-level targeting.

    • Reporting data by geography is not available for YouTube.

  • Interests: Ads are served to users who are pre-defined to have certain interests. This is based on browsing history, the content they are viewing, and other recent behaviors.

  • Demographics: Ads are served to specific demographics based on gender, age, income level, educational status, and parenting status.

Impressions delivered are reported as outlined in the initial proposal or contract.

Clicks

/Click-through rate

The number of users who clicked on the ad and the rate of users who clicked based on total impressions delivered.

YouTube Views

/YouTube view rate

A YouTube view is counted when someone watches a complete ad that is 11-30 seconds long, or someone interacts with the ad.

Completions

/Completion rate

Completions tell us how many users saw 100% of the ad. The completion rate is the percentage of video ads that are played through their entire duration to completion. Completion rates can also be referenced by quartile directly to the video timestamp.
